NG_H

macro polymer fibres for concrete reinforcement

NG_H is EXPORPLAS’s brand for concrete reinforcement macro fibers. It turns concrete into a reinforced composite material that slows crack propagation and reduces plastic shrinkage cracking. Impact and corrosion resistance are also enhanced.

WHERE

TO USE

Can be used mainly in:

• Precast elements;
• Floors (industrial, commercial or domestic);
• Cold room floors;
• Very thin sections with large surface to thickness ratios.

ADVANTAGES

OF FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE

• This fiber simplifies the construction process providing a perfect slab finishing;
• Inhibits early plastic shrinkage cracking;
• Reduces the spalling possibility of concrete edges;
• Improves the mixture by reducing the potential of concrete segregation;
• Increases the cohesiveness of the concrete;
• Cost effective versus steel mesh;
• Ecologic, safer and lighter than steel;
• The concrete is not affected by corrosion or oxidation processes, increasing its durability.

GUIDELINES FOR USING FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE

NG_H is added to the concrete mixing drum during the batching process of all raw materials. Depending on the predetermined concrete mix design, there are various typical concrete dosages: 3, 6 and 9 kg per cubic meter of concrete. Best results were obtained to a C30/37 concrete.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS FOR FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE

Concrete grade: C20/25 minimum;
Cement type: Any combination including slag and fly ash extenders;
Aggregate Size: Any aggregate size as long as the nominal size is not greater than 25% of the thinnest section.

IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS

The standard rules for good concrete practice and placing must be strictly observed, with proper curing procedures as required by normal concrete mixes.

DISCLAIMER
The information presented in this page is based on laboratory tests conducted under specific and supervised conditions. The structural performance of a fibre reinforced concrete is highly dependent on the concrete mixture characteristics. The costumer is advised to perform its own research or to use the services of professionals to determine the suitability of the fibres for a given project or application.
